Intensify Evangelism In Society, Museveni To Religious leaders

President Museveni has urged religious leaders to intensify evangelism in society so as to address the ongoing moral decay.

The president made the remarks at the 29th Lango Diocesan Synod where he was represented by the Vice President, Jessica Alupo. In his speech, he said evangelism is a tool for civilization in society.

“The evangelization movement did not stop only at spreading the word of God, it became an instrument of civilization,” Museveni said.

Museveni also applauded the existing partnership between the church and state as very critical to the country’s journey to middle-income status.

“We have to work together to eradicate poverty, combat diseases, fight corruption, and provide the country with a moral compass,” he said.

However, there is an ongoing plan to eradicate all street preachers from the capital city and other towns. Street preaching is among the known ways of evangelism in the Christian world.

However, RCC, Hudu Hussein has given 30 days to street preachers to vacate the streets. Does this mean the president is not aware of this? If he does, what is he going to do about it?

Hudu Hussein says street preachers are causing a lot of disorder in the city.
