Mehta Group Donates Shs640 Million For Covid-19

In a bid to support national covid task force manned by of the prime minister and ministry of health national response team, mehta Group has donated items worth shs640million.

The items include three double Cabin Hilux pickup and 135 temperature scanners to support front line health workers on duty during the lock down.

Sugar corporation of Uganda Regional director N sharma said this will improve health service provision country wide and help the country curb Corona virus pandemic in the country. “we are very concerned about the same Corona virus pandemic that he hit the world over.

As our country tries to contain the disaster response amidst resources constraints we felt it’s in good spirit to partner with government to provide additional support to speed up the response,”Sharma said.

The donation is in response to presidential appeal to private sector to support government contain Corona virus pandemic. The donation by mehta Group is also part of the company corporate social responsibility in the community where it operates.

Since inception the company has support orphans by paying their schools and supported health intervention as well. Health minister Jane Aceng thanked mehta Group for the generous donation saying together Uganda will be able to control virus pandemic. “as government struggles to curb Corona virus through various efforts we wish to thank our friends from the private sector contribution towards Corona virus response.

This has not only energized the front line health workers but kept the top leaders in total surveillance, “Aceng said.
