Mixed Reactions As Singer Diamond Platnumz Is Said To Be Ugandan

A section of Tanzanians have taken to social media to air out their mixed reactions after their favourite singer, Diamond Platnumz also known as Naseeb Abdul Juma, was said to be a Ugandan by origin.

Diamond’s father, Mzee Abdul Juma also told the media if they follow all laws, singer Diamond Platnumz would be a Ugandan and not a Tanzanian.

We knew the singer since his breakthrough in music over 10 years ago. We therefore consider him a Tanzanian from a small village called Tandale in Kigoma.

However, his father proved many people wrong. “We only associate Diamond with Kigoma because he grew up with his mother who hails from the region.”

“If we observed the law to the letter, Diamond is a Ugandan. He is not from Kigoma, just because he grew up with his mother that is why he believes he is from Kigoma”. Mzee Juma said.

Mzee Juma’s revelations have sparked debates in Tanzania. A TV host had asked if Tanzanians would allow Diamond to go back to his ancestral land in Uganda.
