Makerere University Lecturer Slaps Student In Class, Netizens React

Social media users have reacted to a video of a Makerere University lecturer slapping a female student in his class. This lecturer in a large hall of students can be seen approaching some learners. He proceeds to release some quick slaps towards them as he orders everyone talking in his class to get out.

However, this seemed an odd thing. Especially owing to the fact that these are learners at a higher institution of learning and not a random primary school.

Netizens have reacted to this incident with some pointing out that it would have turned violent if it was them.

“No way.. Who’s that lecturer?” Singer Azawi questioned to which a social media user acquainted with the lecturer pointed out that he’s called Bernard Wandera in the Social Works Faculty.

“You slap me like that, I punch you immediately sagala kwesiliwaza,” singer Bruno K said.

“I don’t know about other people but you slap me like that, one of us is leaving in an ambulance shya,” another social media user said.

A number of social meida users have also gone ahead to call out this Makerere University lecturer. Apparently, his ‘violent’ conduct is uncalled for. They say that students at University are adults and know what they want. However, it is not quite clear what this student did to attract such violence.
