Take Advantage of Govt Programs To Transform Your Lives – Muwanga Kivumbi

Butambala Constituency MP Hon Muwanga Kivumbi has expressed appreciation to the government for its developmental programs.

In particular, he appreciated the Emyooga initiative which he says is a great block towards achieving the much desired economic transformation in Uganda.

As part of a fortnight-long monitoring tour of the Emyooga program, the State Minister for Finance, Planning, and Economic Development conducted the tour.

Muwanga Kivumbi says Emyooga is the only government program that does not consider political inclination for anyone to benefit.

With this, he encouraged his constituents to embrace the program and other government programs for the transformation of the community and country as well.

He further sounded a warning to all saboteurs of government programs in the district as well as embezzlers of government funds.

Additionally, he also implored leaders at the different levels to actively engage in all developmental programs. He also further cautioned them on contradictory actions that have in the past crippled some government programs.

The population in Butambala is predominantly Muslim and may have misunderstood the Emyooga as being anti-Islamic. Minister Kasolo on the contrary explains that being seed capital does not contradict any teachings from the Islamic faith

Butambala district received a total of shs 560 million worth of seed capital. This will to benefit over 3000 members in 105 Emyooga SACCOs. These have so far, been able to mobilize up to shs141m in savings.

From Butambala, the minister monitored the performance of Emyooga SACCOs in two constituencies of Mawokota North and Mawokota south. Here, leaders pledged support to the program despite political differences.
