8 New COVID-19 Cases Confirmed In Uganda

COVID-19 cases in Uganda have reached 763 following the eight new positive cases that were confirmed on Friday (19th June 2020). They are part of the 1,850 samples from different points of entry, contacts and community alerts.

According to the statement released by the ministry of health on Saturday morning, three cases were from alerts and contacts, all from Kyotera District.

However, among them include 5 cargo truck drivers from border entry points, 3 from Elegu, 1 from Busia and 1 from Malaba. All the new confirmed cases are Ugandan nationals.

25 foreign truck drivers who tested positive for COVID-19 were returned to their respective countries.

Uganda now has a total of 763 confirmed COVID-19 cases and a total of 492 recoveries. The country has not yet registered any COVID-19 related deaths.

Therefore, the face masks are supposed to be put into consideration to limit the spread of the deadly virus. Crowds in different parts of Kampala especially Kikuubo area and taxi parts were alerted.
