Bobi’s Fan Patrick Byamukama Sues Police Over Torture During Kyadondo East Campaign’s

Patrick Byamukama, a voter in Kyadondo East constituency has dragged police and government to court due to severe Torture during Bobi’s campaign’s last month

Through his lawyers Rwakafuuzi & Co Advocates, Byamukama asked court to declare that his arrest by police violated his right to liberty under Article 23 of the Constitution.

A staunch supporter of MP Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi.  Byamukama, wants government to compensate him for the June 29 incident in which he was gravely injured by three police officers at Kasangati Polling Station.

“They stole my Shs105,000 and phone. When I tried to get it back, they policemen hit me severally,” Byamukama laments.

He was held in a room in Kasangati guest house where it was said NRM members were ticking ballots for their candidate, Sitenda Sebalu.

The officers reportedly tried to strangle Byamukama and pulled his testicles until blood started coming out of his penis.

He later driven to Kasangati Police Station and thereafter relocated to Kira Police Station.

At Kira, he was held for five days without food or any medical treatment.

He was released on July 3 on police bond.
