Abitex Falls Out With Serena Bata, Demands UGX750 Million

Events promoter Abitex real name Abbey Musinguzi has fallen out with one of his singers Serena Bata. The latter has demanded UGX750 million from her.

This money is part of what he invested in her music and the damages she has caused him.

Abitex signed Serena Bata in 2019 even before Covid-19 lockdown. She had just fallen out with her former manager and husband Sipapa. By that time she was desperately looking for someone to invest in her talent.

Abitex was available for that but unfortunately after signing her, the world was hit by Covid19 and everything shut down.

Abitex like any other businessman didn’t stop there, he managed to get his artist Serena Bata to studios and they kept recording and releasing music.

By the time lockdown was lifted, Serena Bata was ready for stage performances with the music she had then.

Last year, the two had some misunderstandings and the singer decided to start doing her singing solo without management. In doing that, she performed songs she had recorded while in the management of Abitex.

This is something that contradicted the contract she had signed. Now he has taken action, he wants Serena Bata to pay for everything she cost him.

In the document released, he wants her to pay UGX750 million shillings for breach of contract and damages.

He is also demanding her never to perform any of the songs he paid for her to sing unless she gets full rights from him.
