Abitex Reveals The Origin Of Artiste’s Standard Payment List

Recently jailed events Promoter, Abbey Musinguzi of Abitex Promotions, has revealed the origin of artiste’s standard payment list. The artiste’s standard payment list was released on social media weeks ago by promoter Bajjo. By the time this list came out, Abitex was in custody over the incident that happened at Freedom City on New Year which took 10 people’s lives.

So he had no opportunity to speak about it or release it himself during that period. But now that he is out of prison, he has got time to break down how it was created and why.

In an interview with a local television, Abitex revealed that he is the person who came out with the idea of setting a standard price for artiste. He said he thought about it for a long time comparing all his concerts and other people’s concerts in terms of bringing in profits.

According to Abitex, different artistes ask for large amounts of money to perform at a concert because they believe they are better. But in reality these artistes don’t make much money for a promoter. This is because they don’t bring in many fans and they don’t even understand that.

The outspoken promoter said he did the list himself as the president of Uganda Promoters Association. His intentions were not selfish.

He added on that he wants artistes to make money without stepping on promoter’s businesses.

“I am the person that came out with idea of making artistes standard Prices of performing at any Concert. The problem is, it was released when I was behind bars. However, I am here to say the idea was not selfish. I want all of us to benefit from it,” Abitex said.
