The deputy Chief Justice Alphonse Owiny- Dollo revealed that the five cases filed against lifting the agelimit law by the Uganda Law Society (ULS), six opposition MPs , lawyer, Male Mabirizi, Dr.Abed Bwanika and Prosper Busingye, had been merged into one. This is usually done to avoid repetition of the same cases.

The deputy CJ said: “The hearing of the five petitions against the age limit law are to be heard in Mbale and they will be done in a flash to save time.”
However, transferring of the five petitions to Mbale wasn’t well took by the petitioners.
Erais lukwago whose one of the lawyers said that taking the cases outside Kampala is really unfavorable for them the petitioners.
Lukwago claimed that a lot of time will be wasted thus inconvenient for their typical duties.
Despite of their argument, owiny said that Mbale is also part of Uganda and the court can hear the cases from there.
