In particular, it is the cash transfer service that these service breakdown had affected most. The company has however announced that its mobile money services are now fully operational.
‘’We are currently experiencing a temporary service interference which is preventing access to some Airtel Money Services,’’ a statement from Airtel said on Tuesday.
The telecom company regretted any inconveniences caused by the breakdown to its customers. It however assured that its technical teams were on the ground and working hard to restore the service.
The company released another statement earlier today saying they have restored the services and are operating seamlessly.
Many people have resorted to using mobile money services to transfer cash since government limited movements during this 42-day lockdown.
The technical glitch also came at a time when the Prime Minister announced sending relief money to the vulnerable Ugandans.
The government is set to send Shs100, 000 with withdrawal charges to the vulnerable Ugandan citizens.
Among those listed to receive this money are the boda boda riders, taxi drivers and conductors, salon, bar, and gym operators, among other people.
