Am Arranging Debate On ‘The Uganda We Want,’ Speaker Oulanyah

Speaker Of Parliament, Jacob Oulanyah has said he is arranging a debate with the topic of The Uganda We want. The legislators will be allowed to air out views on the issues which they would love to see dealt with so fast so that Uganda can be what they want.

According to Oulanyah, the debate will generate a collective understanding of what government plans to do. This therefore will enable legislators to critique with knowledge and focus.

This is not the first time the Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah is tabling this issue. He says the debate will guide parliament in the execution of the government agenda for the people.

Not only that, it will also generate a collective understanding of what government plans to do and why. According to the speaker, they will organize this debate early next year

Most of the legislators loved the Speaker’s proposal of a special debate. Apparently, it will give an opportunity to iron out the outstanding issues affecting Uganda’s democracy and development.

However, opposition legislators led by their Chief Whip John Baptist Nambeshe said such a debate will never see the light of day because it will be frustrated by the NRM.

Well, it would be a good one if it comes to light. It will also give voters a picture of the kind of leaders they put in power and where they want the country to be. If not for anything, many already think this debate should actually take place.
