Amama Mbabazi Is Back Because of Bobi Wine-Mirundi

Loudmouthed presidential advisor on media matters, Tamale Mirundi, says Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has spread so much panic in western Uganda that even awakened former Prime Minister, Amama Mbabazi.

Bobi Wine has been hounding President Museveni with one critical message after the other to the extent that Daily Monitor cartoonist, Chris Ogon Atukwasibwe, called the two “pen politicians” in his hilarious sketches.

According to Mirundi, Bobi Wine’s courageous attack on the president and his ruling government has threatened people from western Uganda, reminding them that there is a possibility of losing power.

“These people (Westerners) don’t fear to lose power. If Museveni leaves, they know it will still be their own,” Mirundi said while appearing on NBS television Tuesday.

He added: “With Bobi Wine on the scene, they are on panic mode, Amama is back.”

The former presidential candidate made a rare public appearance on Sunday when he attended the thanksgiving function of a Go Forward die-hard Loy Kininga aka Maama Kyama at St. Andrews Church of Uganda Kihihi Archdeaconry.

At the event, his wife Jacqueline Mbabazi rallied the people of Kinkizi West to dissent on the age limit removal. “No one should touch the constitution. Don’t accept their bribes to alter the constitution,” she urged the locals.

Mbabazi, on the other hand, urged Ugandans to follow the set down law and ignore people who will arm-twist the constitution to serve their own selfish interests.

He promised to give his views about issues in the country, especially the age limit bill at an appropriate time.

He swore to never at any time divert form the principals that led them go in the bush. “If you don’t follow the law and you follow whims of individuals, you are doomed,” he told the congregation.

Mirundi views Mbabazi as a possible substitute should president Museveni lose power—it would still remain in the hands of someone from the west.
