Amooti Pays Tribute To His Friend And Former Amarula Member Messe Bontwe

Local comedian Allan Mujuni alias Amooti Omubalanguzi has paid tribute to his friend and former Amarula Family member, Nicholas Mpairwe alias Messe Bontwe. The entertainment industry was left shocked yesterday after the tragic news of Messe Bontwe’s death emerged.

He passed away from a heart attack in the US and this death came a day to Amooti’s concert celebrating 25 years in the industry. Speaking about it, Amooti said that he was left in shock and disbelief. This is because he had been talking with the former Dembe FM and Super FM presenter.

Messe had even promised to surprise him and Amooti now thinks this is the surprise which is rather unfortunate.

Additionally, he said that he thought of postponing the concert. However, he was encouraged to go ahead with it by friends and fans.

“I was in total disbelief when I heard the news. In fact, I abused three people who called telling me that he had died. But when trusted sources started calling me I believed it. Me and Messe had been talking and he even said that he was going to surprise me on the concert day.”

“I kept on wondering whether he was going to buy me a new car or plot of land but I guess this was the surprise. Initially, I thought of postponing the concert but friends and fans encouraged me to go ahead with it,” he said.

It should be noted that Messe has been in the US for the past one decade. He had also disappeared from the comedy scene and has not been seen for years.
