Andre Berto Is My Next Opponent- Floyd Mayweather Says

After the 2nd May’s fight between the American Floyd and Paqcuiao the Filipino, everyone was desperately waiting for the next opponent of Mayweather and many were in favour of Khan to have a bout with Floyd Mayweather. instead he chose Andre Berto, according to Telegraph.

Mayweather has surprised many after announcing his next opponent Andre Berto, and the two are to fight on 12th September at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas.

Mayweather tweeted, “Come be part of the history, book you’re hotels and flights now.” After announcing his next opponent on social media.

Who is Andre Berto ?

Andre Michael Berto is a Haitian-American professional boxer who is a two-time Welterweight champion and the current WBA Welterweight Interim Champion.

He is 31 years old, and has had 33 fights with 23 knock outs ,lost 3 fights and won the remaining 30 fights of him. Berto held a 27-0 record until 2011 after he was beaten up by Victor Ortiz.
Mayweather is aiming to match Rocky Marciano’s undefeated record in September and will be over whelmed if he beats up the Haitian –American boxer.

Many say that Andre Berto is not a suitable opponent for Mayweather due to his tarnishing career that he is upholding now and many wanted him to face the Bolton- born man Khan.

Mayweather says “Khan continuously criticized me after I told him to remain silent so I had to remove him from my considerations.”
