President Magufuli made the remarks on Friday at Masaka State Lodge.

He commended President Museveni’s leadership in Uganda and Africa at large.

“In President Museveni, we see another Nyerere and one day, Ugandans will appreciate your leadership,” he said.

Museveni worked closely with Nyerere in the wars against Idi Amin.

On June 1, Museveni expressed his gratitude for the declaration of former Tanzanian President, Mwalimu Julius Nyerere, as a servant of God describing him as a Pan Africanist who was very courageous in the fight for justice and unity in Tanzania and the whole of Africa.

“Mwalimu was very courageous defending justice and stood for the oppressed,” said Museveni.

Nyerere was credited for uniting the people of Tanzania and supporting liberation Movements in African countries mainly in Southern Africa that were by then still being colonized.
