Anti- Corruption Court Disappoints Nandutu In Latest Ruling

The Anti-corruption court in Kampala has delivered disappointing news to junior minister for Karamoja affairs Agnes Nandutu. The Minister petitioned the court to halt proceedings against her in the iron sheets scandal.

Nandutu was arrested and remanded to Luzira prison last month. She was bailed out on 4th May 2023 on grounds of ill health.

This was done by FDC Secretary General Nathan Nandala Mafabi, MP Gerald Nangoli and Bududa district LC 5 chairperson Kamoti Milton Apolo Wasumbuyi.

Unlike other ministers like Mary Goretti Kitutu, Amos Lugoloobi, Kitutu’s brother Micheal Naboya, her P.A Joshua Abaho who are accused of diverting government property and theft of iron sheets, Nandutu was immediately forwarded to the high Court Anti-corruption division and charged for Dealing With Suspect Property.

Court has now declined to halt the proceedings against Nandutu. It has instead advised her to concentrate on challenging the charges. High court judge Jane Kajuga says the charge of the suspect property is very clear.
