Are Music Fans Responsible For The Bubble Gum Kind Of Music?

Most times when artistes and writers are making songs, there interest is in impressing their music fans. So many times, it looks like the audience is to blame for the kind of music that we have on board right now.

If it is true, then whether we like it or not, we the audience are responsible for the bubble gum kind of music on market right now.

One may say, we have one song writer and music producer in our country. This is because of the same flow of lyrics and arrangement of songs. This is a disease that is slowly but surely killing the would be creativity in the name of impressing the audience.

Well, we can’t blame the artistes much, I mean who wouldn’t want to impress their customers. Its how money is made, its how records are sold.

However, in the long run, when our ears grow, we shall need something better. Bubble gum music is good but for a moment. It can make you quick money but also it puts you on tension because to remain relevant, you have to constantly release new songs.

Things can change though, artistes can set the trend and do something better than what we listen to lately.

We can’t continue listening to songs that have just one word in the chorus and it trends number one because the rhythm is great. Let music trend for the right reasons. Let writers have something to do and artistes boil their heads.

The audience will always catch up. Otherwise, it doesn’t make sense to entirely say the audience has the final day on what really trends.

These are some of the reasons as to why our music industry is lagging behind. The lyrical content is poor and production is cliche.

We can say a lot of things but we need a new foundation to build the music industry. We need to help the audience know what is really good for them to listen to.
