He said that artists are going to die poor in case they continue singing educational songs because that’s not what the fans want to hear.
Lil Pazo has been in the music industry for some good years now. He has tried singing different types of songs with different messages but a few have worked out.
This year, he released a song known as Enkudi, which later became an anthem to the young generation. Unfortunately, its message is vulgar, but he still had bookings for multiple shows to keep going.
A few days ago, UCC decided to ban vulgar songs from all media houses and social media platforms. Gravity Omutujju and Lil Pazo were the lead artists to be banned.
According to Pazo, he understands what UCC is trying to do but they are forgetting that Ugandan artists are very poor. There is no copyright law in place, all they need to do is get a hit song and make some money for the family.
“I am trying to understand what UCC is doing by banning songs. I know and I have been through it, no artiste is going to make money singing educational songs. All I can say is that let them ban the songs and let artists die very poor,” he said.
It should be noted that there is actually a copyright law, however, it needs to be amended in order to be up to date with modern technology.
