He said the rumors going around that he wasn’t paid are false as he has proof of all the payments.
Tamale Mirundi breathed his last early this month after struggling with lung disease. The family said they didn’t know he was sick and by the time they found out, it was too late to get on medication.
The outspoken political analyst always said that he supported President Museveni although he didn’t like his government. He used to speak about many politicians, the kind he called the mafias.
Mirundi was known to be a controversial presidential advisor. However, it wasn’t clear whether he was getting a salary like any other advisor.
According to Balaam Barugarara, once President Museveni appoints someone he makes sure they are paid in order to do their job. He said that wasn’t different with Tamale Mirundi as he was paid like any other until he died.
The minister also said even when Tamale Mirundi kept on rejecting the presidential advisor’s office, the money as his salary was deposited in his bank account without any questions.
“Tamale Mirundi kept rejecting the presidential advisor’s office but he was getting his salary. The rumor going around that the government used him and didn’t pay him anything is very wrong,” Balaam said.
