It’s no longer news that the first son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba is planning to channel into politics by aiming for the highest political office in the land, the presidency.
Kaggwa Njala has now said that each move Museveni and his son make should be scrutinized. He pointed out the fact that Muhoozi was ordered by his father to stop his seemingly reckless tweets.
Apparently, Museveni called for a meeting of all security chiefs. This took place in Ntungamo as he was returning from the CHOGM summit in Rwanda.
Rumors have it that Muhoozi’s presidential aspirations when he’s still serving in the army is not pleasing to some section of the Uganda People Defense Forces.
In this meeting that was also attended by Muhoozi, Museveni ordered him to stop tweeting about security issues both in Uganda and the region. The president did not only pose this order to him but also other military heads that love using social media.
This seems like an antidote to Muhoozi whose tweets have always posed sensitive information, especially from a high-ranking military general. However, Kaggwa believes that this is a game to up Muhoozi’s political career.
“They’ll then say he’s a disciplined boy who heeds his father’s commands. That will be one of the campaign tools. Be woke!,” Njala tweeted.
It however seems that keeping Muhoozi away from his Twitter page is something that seems unlikely. Everyone both critics and fans alike are in anticipation mode waiting for his next tweet.
