The “Wire wire” singer said that Buganda region has been the most affected area by the pandemic.
However, the kingdom is yet to make a significant contribution in the fight against the disease.
Uganda has been grappling with the pandemic just like other countries globally since last year.
Many people continue to feel the effects of Covid up to now. The economy has shrunk whilst hundreds have lost lives too.
The government has been at the forefront of fighting the pandemic as it’s obligation outlines. However, a number of companies and individuals have come out to play a pivotal role in helping the government to fight the disease.
These have helped in form of money, food, vaccines, medical equipment among other merchandise.
Bebe Cool who saw his wife suffer from the deadly COVID-19 said that it was time for Mengo to up it’s game.
“I haven’t seen any leader from Mengo donating even Ugx 100 to anyone. Buganda as a kingdom has money. They get a lot of money from ground rent and all sorts of avenues. Where is Mengo in the fight against COVID-19 that’s eating up it’s subjects?” Bebe Cool questioned.
However some people were not happy with the singer’s comments.
They told Bebe Cool to ask the government where it put the funds collected last year as COVID 19 donations.
They also reminded Bebe that Mengo had contributed Ugx100 million to the government in the first lockdown.
