Hon. Betty Nambooze Queries Covid-19 Cases At KCCA

Mukono District women MP Hon. Betty Nambooze Bakireke is very curious as she questioned KCCA staff members about Covid-19 Cases. She demands to know how KCCA allegedly misused Covid money.

In other wards, Betty Nambooze was also confused when she heard that there was plan to declare that Lord Mayor is sick such that he can be dragged into hospital and maybe declare him for whatever they would decide for him.

“What Ugandans have always suspected might have come true at KCCA: As the alternative Minister to Kampala I told the Press that at the earliest, I am to move Parliament to interest it’s self in the happenings at KCCA in relation to Covid money.

This I have based on the information already in the Press, showing that top directors at KCCA connived with the Ministry of Health Officials to give some if the employees of KCCA +Covid results, confined them in hospitals when the fact of the matter is that they are not sick or carriers of Covid.

Am to move Parliament to examine the role of the two lady Ministers for Kampala. At the same press briefing I have staked my honour to the fact that Ag.ED of KCCA Kitaka has already booked his ticket to Luzira. How dare you Kitaka spend public funds without a resolution of your council? Does KCCA have a supplementary budget?!

Imagine these KCCA staff and most probably just a group of pretenders to be in self Isolation because of the non existent positive Covd results! They also attempted to technically kick out the Lord Mayor by attempting to force him into a quarantine. So if Lukwago is positive Nambooze and Besigye his contacts will be suspects and finally anyone who visited Besigye a contact of Lukwago and those who visited Nambooze would all be taken for treatment.

I have received disturbing information that there was plan to declare the Lord Mayor sick so as to be dragged into hospital confined and maybe declare him whatever they would choose for him.

The technical staff at KCCA should know that the Rule of the Law General has never lost to anyone and here we are. As a mulokole Jane Ruth Aceng jumped out of the deal and the KCCA Covid lumpens have exposed Uganda before the World community.” She said.

[dropcap]A[/dropcap] section of women in Bugongo parish and Nawangaiza parish in Nawandala Sub County, Iganga District have decried the near-impossible terms set for them to access GROW funds. They have now petitioned their woman member of parliament for Iganga Hon. Kauma Sauda Alibaawo to ask the government for revised terms and conditions. This is to enable them to benefit from the program. The disgruntled women accuse the implementers of the program of charging the money. They are also asking for their land titles and land agreements. They said that such properties are governed by their husbands. These, therefore want the government through their woman MP to intervene and revise the requirements for one to benefit. The women were on Wednesday at Namabwere primary school in Nawandala Sub County. They had gathered in their respective groups to receive over 300 chickens from Hon Alibaawo in her campaign to improve the livelihood of women in Iganga district. Each group was given 50 chicken as start-up capital in their journey to prosperity. Read what some leaders said; Ms Naigambi Lydia from Nawandala Trading Centre says, “They solicited money from us through opening bank accounts and depositing Shs80,000. They also asked for land titles and land agreements from us yet we don’t have such things. I was informed that I needed to have a business with a capital of Shs4m yet my capital was very small.” The chairperson Kisoboka Saving Group in Nawandala Ms. Nakagolo Faith said they were not able to join the program. This is given the many conditions attached. She also asked their woman MP to raise their concerns to the relevant offices. The MP condemned the mode of implementation of the program. She cited that it has turned to benefit the well-off class of women other than the intended group. She further asked the government to intervene saying the current strings attached to the programme are very tight to accommodate a common woman. GROW project is a Government of Uganda initiative that arose out of the need to respond to the needs of women entrepreneurs. This is especially those who want to grow their businesses, sustain their self-employment and create more jobs.
