The Kyadondo East MP and a musician known as Bobi Wine is seriously recognizing the legendary politicians who played a big role in shaping Uganda and among them include Nelson Mandela, Benedicto Kagimu Mugumba Kiwanuka who was murdered and others.
To highlight you more about Benedicto Kiwanuka, he was the first prime minister of Uganda, a former leader of the Democratic Party, and he was among the people who led the country in the transition between colonial British rule and independence. He was later murdered during Idi Amin’s regime in 1972.
Therefore, Ben Kiwanuka inspired Bobi Wine to the extent of sharing a statement he said during his life time.
“Sooner or later somebody has to die for a noble cause in this wicked world. If Amin kills me, somebody will take my place. But nobody will do unless someone sets an example first. We can’t afford other people to undertake a moral challenge when we can ourselves. If I die I will have played my moral part,” Chief Justice Benedicto Kiwanuka said at that time.
