Bobi Wine And Other Musicians To Be Tested For Drugs Before Resuming Concerts

Latest news that reached our desk this morning indicate that the legendary singer, Bobi Wine and his fellow artistes including Roden Y, Ziza Bafana, Fille Mutoni and others, are now supposed to first go through drug test before holding any concert again.

Reports indicate that the Government has already issued out new rules to be followed by all artistes, actors, actresses, events’ organizers, promoters in the entertainment business. These regulations are to be strictly expected to be followed before anyone joins music or release any song, play, film, drama, dance or any entertaining event.

However, these rules that never spared the “Kyarenga” hit singer Bobi Wine out, were amended by the Uganda National Culture forum, under the Ministry of Gender and Social development.

However, these rules which over circulated on social media also targeted musicians like Bobi Wine, who is believed to have used drugs before.

These strict rules and regulations are directly eliminating many artistes who thought that music is the only channel to escape poverty and a short cut to a cool lifestyle. Many rumors are still circulating saying the Government used this method to indirectly weaken the Kyadondo East MP.
