Is Bryan White Bewitched? Here’s Why His Close Friends Believe So

Bryan White Faces Arrest Over Abortion Charges

There is a saying that even the best dancer leaves the stage and this saying might apply to faded socialite Kirumira Brian aka Bryan White.

The young man shook the whole of Uganda wherever he went with his money but latest news indicate how parliament’s committee on human rights has ordered for his imminent arrest.

The committee implicated the once famous money bags socialite for financing abortions of 3 girls that lived in his premises for over period of one year.

The parliamentary report says that Bryan White used to avail money, transport and police guards to escort the girls to the designated venues where these abortions were carried out.

“He (Brian White) did not tolerate any pregnancies.  The young girls were confined in Bryan White’s house for over a year and this wasn’t picked up by police and all the relevant agencies,”  MP Henry Maurice Kibalya told as the House on Thursday debated the committee’s report on the accusations of sexual abuse and violation of human rights by Bryan White against , Ms. Vivian Mutanda, Ms. Leticia Nabulime, Ms. Stella Nandawula and several other women.

This was after the MPs were discussing a wide range of sexual offences and discussing new ways in how to curb them down. Bryan White’s behavior was seen as sexual exploitation disguised as work.

The MP’s in their recommendations after the report demanded for the immediate arrest of the socialite because justice needs to be served and therefore he has to face his crimes.

While speaking during the panel, Ms Hellen Grace Alamo a PWD representative said that Bryan White’s case was just a fraction of the many sexual violation cases against girls and women in the country that don’t get reported.

“I want to appreciate that we have passed the Sexual Offences Bill, and we hope it will be passed. Many of these girls who are taken out of the country to work go through a lot to reach that level and we have heard stories that when they get out (of the house), they are sexually harassed. We are going to have a generation of people who are depressed,” she noted.

Mitooma woman MP while speaking castigated the police for allowing the breakage of the law in it’s presence yet it should be the one enforcing it. “Uganda has very powerful laws that even other countries come to learn from but it’s very absurd that the police is always implicated in breaking these laws instead of enforcing them.” The honorable member said.

MP Kibalya went ahead to say that this case comes up at a time when many girls are suffering and are still suffering due to sexual offences committed against them.

“The police that is protecting Bryan White is the same we are requesting to produce or arrest; him that is not possible. The Police we know in Uganda cannot handle those. We need the Prime Minister to come and tell this country, who are these untouchable individuals, that operate with impunity, they are above the law, they are protected by SFC; you see men who are not even in uniform but with pistol and guns, they terrorize everybody,” Kibalya said.

Kibalya also went ahead to say that, “Originally when SFC was coming up, we thought it was a protection unit for the Head of State, but you will find SFC on a vehicle somewhere protecting people in private cars; you have seen when Bryan White goes to Arua to distribute money, he is protected by SFC.”

Minister of State for Animal Industry Bright Rwamirama however denied these claims by MPs that the army was aiding people such as Bryan White and they are not above the law.

“Generals in this country have been prosecuted, fired, and transferred. I think we need to isolate between crime and the Forces. I am going to ask Internal Affairs Minister Jeje Odongo to come and explain this issue of Bryan White,”  Rwamirama explained.

While taking to the flow, junior Finance Minister, David Bahati said that the government totally condemned the abuse of human rights by any Ugandan adding that the protection of human rights and rule of law was one of the prime reasons that NRA went to the bush to liberate Ugandans.

The MPs concluded by adding that Bryan White should also be charged with trafficking under Section 2 of the trafficking in Persons Act, 2009.
