He said that the National Unity Platform (NUP) President always made it clear to the artists at fire base before they recorded any songs. That was one of the conditions that he has full ownership of the songs.
Buchaman revealed that this was the secret and that is how Bobi Wine earned from his record label in those years.
Firebase produced so many musicians including Eddy Kenzo, Lil Pazzo, Zex Bilangilangi, and all the Ssentamu young brothers who are singing. He helped them record and even market the music.
According to Buchaman, he is no longer friends with Bobi Wine and if he wants, he would say bad things about him.
However, when it comes to music, he helped so many people. Apparently, owning the music of Firebase artistes didn’t earn Bobi that much but he still invested in the artists.
On matters of plagiarism;
The presidential advisor also denied allegations of Bobi Wine plagiarising Eddy Kenzo’s music while still at Firebase. He said that every artiste had their unique songs. Maybe he feared giving ownership of his music to Bobi Wine.
“Bobi Wine owns all the music that we did while in firebase. Taking ownership was the only way he was earning from the artists in Firebase. It is not true that Bobi Wine plagiarized Eddy Kenzo’s songs. I think he just feared to give ownership of his music to anyone and left Firebase to start his own things,” she said.
