The Busoga University,[5] is a private university in Uganda, affiliated with Busoga Diocese of the Church of Uganda

The administration of Busoga University has unveiled a new multi-billion complex that will house the faculty of Medicine and also refuted claims of torturing, and randomly firing staffs.[8]
The facility hitherto Bugiri high school in Bugiri town council was bought from its original proprietor identified as Dr Basalirwa Muyinda,[2] also the chairman district service commission for Bugiri at 2.6 billion in the effort of the university management to expand and extend its spheres and also reduce congestion at the main campus in Iganga.[7]
The acquisition of a new magnificent facility comes in the awake of public outcry that the university was steadily on its verge of collapse due to poor management and misappropriation of resources.[10]
The outcry came to the limelight in March this year when most of the staff here staged a sit-down strike accusing the administrators of failure to pay their salaries for more than three months,[6] coupled with laying off of most members of the teaching staff.
However,[4] while addressing chairmen of the ten districts that make up Busoga sub region about the state of the university at the New Bugiri campus on Sunday afternoon,[5] the university vice chancellor David Lameck Kibikyo refuted all accusations of poor management and administration.[1]
