Buwekula Ssaza FC camp has been hit with a blow just a few days to the Masaza Cup final. The team’s red hot forward whose name has been withheld lost a parent in a fatal accident in Mubende which claimed the lives of four.
On Saturday 5th, Buwekula is to face Buddu in a Masaza Cup final brawl. The game will determine the champion of the 17th edition at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
Mr. Kyambadde Joseph, the Buwekula Masaza technical director, said the unexpected death of the mother of one of their players has left them sad.
However, the player has pledged to keep his focus on accomplishing the mission ahead of him on Saturday. He will then join his family and bury his late mother.
“One of our leading strikers lost a mother in a fatal accident at Madudu, Mubende district on Wednesday. He has however assured us his willingness to give us his whole on Saturday before he can join his family in Mubende to condole with the family. As players, they have also promised to work hard and win the Masaza cup for him as a dedication for the love of his team,” stated Mr Kyambadde Joseph.
Buwekula Ssaza FC eliminated Mawokota to qualify for the final as Buddu beat Bulemeezi as it was in the 2020 semi-final showdown.
Entry for the final at St Mary’s Stadium will be Shs20,000 for the ordinary and Shs50,000 for the VIP.
The main sponsors of the tournament are UNAIDS, Nabagereka Development Foundation, Centenary Bank and Airtel Uganda.
