Through her social media, the Bankuza hitmaker bestowed the title upon her head. She said that despite coming from the village, no one is better than her when it comes to breathing out sweet melodious voices.
One more thing that seemed controversial about her post is her age. Despite being around the scene for a number of years now and already having two kids and different relationships, the singer claims to be making 22 years.
“Hey, my name is Chosen Becky, Ugandan best female vocalist. I’m a free village girl and I’m making 22 years on 20th Feb,” she posted on her Facebook page.
Her followers started exchanging different opinions in regards to this topic. She has in the recent past courted compliments from some of her fellow singers. Among them are Bebe Cool and Ykee Benda.
NBS TV presenter Sheilah Gashumba who is considered too urban in regards to music also some time ago complimented the singer.
There is no absolute doubt about her talent musically because shehas proved it. However, declaring herself the best female vocalist in Uganda might be disputable.
This is because there are a number of female singers with some of the most angelic voices in the country. These include the likes of Rema Namakula, Irene Ntale, Lydia Jazmine, Lilian Mbabazi.
Although no longer musically active, Juliana Kanyomozi and Iryn Namubiru remain Uganda’s best female vocalists to beat by the current singers.
