Cindy Sanyu Denies Ever Performing For Kabaka Half Naked

Talented songstress and president of Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) Cindy Sanyu has denied being paid by Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga. It is said that she was paid to go and surprise the Kabaka Ronald Mwenda Mutubi half-naked.

The article was released in a local newspaper and the singer was very angry calling it nonsense wondering who the writer is and why they would write such a story.

In Uganda, the Kabaka is one of the most respected cultural leaders. In the Buganda culture, dressing decently is part of respect. Therefore, there is a dress code for ladies and men who want to go around the Kabaka.

Even when artistes are paid to go and perform for him, they are told to dress according to the culture and that is what they do.

It was surprising to many people when Cindy was accused of bragging about dressing indecently to go and surprise the Kabaka. She asked people to help her locate the writer of the article. She said the news is baseless and nonsense.

“I need some help. Someone just sent me this and I’m in shock. When was this baseless nonsense written and who is the writer?” she said.

It should be noted that there is a video making rounds on social media of Cindy Sanyu’s interview with SB4 media. She made a few comments about going to perform for the kabaka but not what was written.
