The campaign is intended to collaborate with the government in the fight against the outbreak confirmed in the country last month.
The City traders association ’s chairperson, Thaddeus Musoke, the campaign will be led by the KACITA Ebola task force. It will reportedly cover all business centers in Kampala Metropolitan Area sensitizing traders on Ebola transmission and prevention.
He called upon traders to consider their lives precious and guard properly against the disease. He also urged them not to hide any sick person that has exhibited Ebola symptoms.
There have so far been 115 confirmed cases of the virus, 32 of which have been registered as fatalities and 34 cases have recovered.
Among the 115 cases, at least 11 of them were health workers, 4 of whom died. There are also 20 deaths among individuals who died before a sample could have been taken but who were linked to confirmed cases.
