Coach Zungu Tasked With Oiling Gaddafi’s Rusty Guns As Police Visits

When Gaddafi got promoted to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, they were the third-best in the second division. However, 21 games into their debut season, they are placed inside the top half of the table.

For a club sailing new waters, it is a good position to be in yet their bosses ambitiously look to have more.

The executives did not think twice before showing coach Peter Onen the exit of the barracks immediately when he lost 1-0 away to Villa last week.

The ‘Soldier boys’ have only one win in six league games. The exit from the Uganda Cup gave enough reason to slam the door on Onen. The club insists he is on a sick leave but the coach says otherwise.

His former assistant, Hassan Zungu has taken charge on an interim basis for a second stint.

He previously commandeered the arsenals of the Soldier Boys after a poor start in the Fufa Big League with a short tenure that saw him take topflight football inside the confines of Gaddafi barracks.

Today, coach Zungu will be tested as Gaddafi FC will face Abdallah Mubiru’s Police FC at the barracks.

“It’s a new role and chapter altogether but I am not under any pressure”. Zungu said ahead of his debut in charge of a topflight match.
