Col Nakalema To Work With Police And MOH Regarding High Covid Treatment Charges

Col Edith Nakalema, the head of State House Anti-Corruption Unit, has said police is going to work with Ministry of Health regarding the high covid treatment charges.

There has been a public outcry about the extremely high charges of covid treatment. If you don’t have the Ugshs3M, to spend daily, you may want to avoid Covid. Some prominent people have called out the government, plus the MOH to come out on this matter.

However, their silence has been so loud and yet people are extremely strained with these abnormal prices without proper accountability.

“…We shall coordinate with police and Ministry of Health to question these exorbitant prices. Fighting Corruption requires collective effort and together we can make a difference,” Nakalema tweeted.

Col. Nakalema’s involvement may be a silver lining on the clouds. Just recently she came out and confronted bus companies. These companies are charging so highly for transport which had left many students stranded in parks.

Her voice indeed changed a lot in this situation which may do the same now. Otherwise, it’s just too much to handle.

Actually, the MOH should have spearheaded this because this is their ministry. People are leaving hospital without fully recovering. This is because the bills are so high and yet their income is less.

Probably, government should arrange other means of treating covid patients minus private hospitals involvement. Otherwise, it’s abnormal, the kind of charges that the hospitals are putting up.
