This time round though, we are absolutely sure some things are going to be changed a bit. The Covid task force had a meeting with the president just yesterday. Some things were proposed to cub the resurgence of covid. Apparently, the task force suggested curfew to go back to 7:00pm, students who are supposed to start school Monday should hold on among others.
The good news though is that among all the suggestions, lockdown didn’t appear any where as a solution. The task force only emphasized adherence to SOPs. This is good news but we can’t entirely be sure that lockdown has been ruled out. The Covid situation has seen cases escalating at a high rate. For example, on 2nd June, 900 cases were registered and of this 600 are from Kampala.
Meanwhile, the information about Museveni’ s address was confirmed on social media by him. He used social media to inform the country that he will be addressing us on Sunday at 8:00pm on all stations.
“I met the National Taskforce on COVID19 this afternoon at State House Entebbe. I will address the Nation on Sunday 6th June at 8pm on the steps we have decided to take to curb the new wave.”
