Controversies Surround Omah Lay And Tems’ Release From Prison

Many controversies are surrounding the release of Nigerian artistes Omah Lay and Tems as three parties came out to claim they are responsible. Bobi Wine, Bebe Cool and, another private Law Firm have come out to fight for recognition in the release of the artists.

After their arrest, Nigerians on social media revolted and Bebe Cool happened to be at the center of their scon. He, however, was the first to run out claiming to pull strings to have the two artists released from jail.

He posted pictures from the prisons and then later snapped images of release orders. The release orders appeared to be from Grade One Magistrate Okumu Jude Muwonge.
He tweeted, ‘’Great News!!! They are free @Omah_Lay and @temsbaby.’’

However, soon afterward, Bobi Wine also claimed it was his lawyers Anthony Wameli of Wameli and Co advocates who ensured the release.

‘’As I announced today, my lawyers joined in representing @Omah_Lay, Tems and the Ugandans charged. Delighted to see the illegal & unfair charges dropped! Evidence that voices matter, that PEOPLE POWER can force the people in power to act. We must never underestimate our potential!’’ Bobi claimed.

In the Tweet, Bobi Wine included a picture of a letter from his lawyers introducing themselves to court as legal advisors to the artistes. The letter doesn’t indicate, however, that the lawyers filed for the release.

Third party claims;

However, nother law firm also hijacked the wagon of self-proclamation claiming they are behind the release of the Nigerians.

‘’Proud to say that we at Messrs. Katende, Ssempebwa, and Company Advocates @katslaw1 @EmploymentKats have ensured the freedom of musicians Omah Ley @Omah_Lay and Tems (Temilade Openy),’’ they tweeted.

The real hero behind their release of Omah Lay and Tems, however, is still unknown since everyone is claiming to have a hand in it. We can only wait to hear from the artists themselves as they extend their gratitude to whoever it was.
