Court Drops Charges Against Muhammad Kirumira

Kirumira was charged with a number of charges but as he appeared before the police court on Thursday, two charges against him were dropped.

One of the charges against the senior officer kirumira was torturing Pius Kato. It said mohammad by beating him with wires and cut his right thumb while still in charge of Nansana police station.

Superintendent of Police court Kusemereire told the court that she contacted the wife of kato and she told her that kato had died. Therefore, Kusemereire told court that since Kato had died the case could not continue.

The prosecutor also tasked the Police court to drop charges related to discreditable and irregular conduct contrary to section 12 of the Police Act.

The court chairman accepted to drop the two charges against senior police officer Kirumira.

However,mohammad questioned the court for not allowing him legal representation during the disciplinary proceedings saying it violates its rights.
