Dates Set For The Return Of The Makerere University Bazaar

Freshers at Makerere University are now making themselves comfortable after day one of orientation at Freedom Square. However, though, they should now brace themselves as the dates for the University Bazaar have been set to start on August 23.

A number of activities are in store to ensure that “freshers” have the most of their first days at university. Together with the discounted prices on items, many other activities are being lined up for the event.

Some of the activities lined up include live performances from artists and a number of prizes will be given out.

A year ago, the university’s management came to a decision to discontinue the Bazaar and all social events in the institution.

This decision followed violent events that happened at the university on a Friday night during the 2022 Freshers’ bowl.

It’s a whole different feel now in 2023 as the Bazaar is going to take place at Impis Grounds(Rugby Pitch). As for this year’s Freshers’ Ball, it is still being discussed and if allowed, the dates will definitely be communicated.

The Bazaar usually happened at Mitchell Hall but the university management decided to change the venue this time around.

The reason behind this change is unknown but it will provide ample space for a maximum fun experience for the Freshers.
