Deputy IGP, Maj Gen Paul Lokech Is Dead

BREAKING NEWS; News reaching our desk indicates that the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Maj Gen Paul Lokech is dead. Apparently, Lokech is said to have died of a blood clot at about 10:15 am on Saturday morning. He passed on at his home.

The UPDF tweeted the announcement earlier about the passing of Gen Lokech.

‘’We regret to announce the passing of the deputy inspector general of police Maj Gen Paul Lokech,’’ the UPDF said in their tweet.

A senior military officer then later confirmed Lokech’s death. He said that Police Spokesperson, Fred Enanga would issue a confirmation statement later.

The former Commandant of the Uganda Rapid Deployment Capability Centre in Jinja- ascended to the deputy IGP role on December 16, 2020. This was after President Museveni appointed him during a tense electoral season.
