Mukwala is currently part of the Uganda Cranes squad in camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel, Kisaasi preparing for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers. From there, Mukwala appreciated his dear fans for their generous support.
‘’I am humbled to win the MTN’s fans’ award of the year. I would like to thank my club, technical staff, and teammates. In a special way, I thank the fans who showered me with the love. I am indeed honored,’’ he said.
The CEO of the club URA FC, Henry Mayeku as well as the communications director, Patrick Ochieng ably represented the victor.
Desse Mukwala scored 14 goals for the club as they finished second on the table making him the club’s top scorer in the season.
He is only two goals shy of the overall top scorer, Yunus Sentamu of Vipers FC and a goal behind Express’ Eric Kenzo Kambale.
MTN Uganda Chief Marketing Officer Somdev Sen retaliated an undying love for sports. He also pointed out the huge potentiality that Uganda has in sports as a country.
‘’MTN has always been a supporter of sports. We strongly believe that Uganda has a lot of potential in sports,’’ Somdev said.
