This was revealed by Justice Simon Mugenyi Byamukama, the EC chairperson, while appearing before parliament on Tuesday.
He said the money will be used to conduct LC elections including those for women councils.
Government through the Ministry of Finance released the money to the election body.
“We have received the money and by next week, we shall inform the country, when to have these elections,” Byamukama said.
The money earlier provided for the January elections was later diverted to address the hunger crisis which hit several parts of the country.
