Last week saw clashes between Uganda’s legendary three big artists, Jose Chameleone, Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine on social media.
This was after Bobi Wine issued a lengthy statement criticizing all those artists who went to meet Gen Salim Saleh in Gulu. Bobi Wine said that it was a pity that these artists were crawling to the same government that is making them suffer.
However, according to Eddie Sendi, Bobi Wine’s letter contained a number of falsehoods.
Sendi advised Bobi Wine to calm down his ego and stop thinking he’s the epitome of Ugandan music.
“Saying that the likes of Kawaddwa in the 70’s were killed by Amin was totally wrong. How could he say that that boy of Mighty Family was kidnapped by the government? Everyone knows it was self-kidnap and the boy is in the US now chilling. He also talked of the musicians that the military beat in Gulu. If the military had beaten them, none of them would come back walking. They went there and became rowdy blocking a military road. He should stop thinking that the industry rotates around him.” Sendi said.
The vocal radio presenter went ahead to say that he was very much disappointed in Bobi Wine’s letter.
Jenkins Mukasa another guest in the studio said that Bobi Wine should stop attacking and labelling his fellow musicians as beggars. This is because Bobi Wine was the first beggar among musicians and got his share from Saleh.
He also tasked the NUP leader to organise a concert of his own and support the musicians that subscribe to his party.
Jenkins cited hunger and poverty as the main reason these artists meet Saleh.
