Eddy Kenzo Nominated For Grammy Awards

Musician Eddy Kenzo has been nominated for the Grammy awards for the very first time. Kenzo is the first Ugandan to scoop this nomination for these prestigious awards. Grammy awards are very prestigious musical awards that started in 1958.

They were started to recognize specifically music at that time. This is because all the awards that were there at that time mostly recognized films and a lot of other things.

For this reason, the Grammys are very much respected in the music industry that even just a nomination is good enough. This is why Ugandans have showed a lot of excitement when Eddy Kenzo got the nomination by this prestigious awards this year.

They nominated Kenzo in the Best Global Music Performance category with his song Gimme love with Matt B.

A number of Ugandans showed their excitement and thanked Kenzo for selling Uganda Music Industry to the world.

“Congratulations my brother and thanks for laying a concrete brick on the Ugandan music 🎶. Ugandans are proud of you. Continue hitting it to the top,” a one Tuhaise Mark said.

“Congratulations mr Eddy Kenzo upon being the very first Ugandan, East African to be nominated in the worlds biggest awards,” a one Arthur Muhwezi said.

Kenzo has also been winning a number of international awards. These include; Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award in 2018, a BET Award in 2015, among others.
