Eddy Kenzo On Why People Stay Poor

Grammy nominee and BET Award winner Edirisa Musuuza also m known as Eddy Kenzo has revealed reasons why some people stay poor. In Uganda, a large number of people, especially in slums can’t manage food on a daily basis. Singer Eddy Kenzo was one of those people while growing up. His parents died at a young age and he hit Kampala streets to look for a living.

Without anyone to help, he started doing street works in order to get money and fend for himself. The singer was fortunate enough that he is talented in singing. He had to make his way to the studio in order to get a hit song. This saw sitya loss song opening up doors for him and his career. This song also saw the ghetto kids dancers that were featured in the video gain fame.

Now that Eddy Kenzo has money and assets, he has something to talk about the poor and why people have remained there. According to him, instead of people uniting to look for money, they are busy fighting and sabotaging each other. The singer further said people haven’t realized that that is the way of poverty, not success.

“People are poor, they need one another to make it somewhere. But instead of uniting to ‘look for bread’, they are fighting and sabotaging each other. That’s the way of poverty. You are poor, what are you fighting for?” -he said.
