Cindy happens to be the current president of Uganda Musicians Association (UMA), another organization that has now seemingly lost value.
Many top musicians didn’t support UMA saying it is very dormant. They also say it doesn’t support the interests of musicians.
Now a new federation has been formed and it has high profile musicians. Additionally, one of them is the president himself Eddy Kenzo with Sheebah and Pallaso as deputies.
For a long time, musicians have been complaining about the Uganda Performing Rights Society (UPRS). With UMA, the issues were not worked on but Eddy Kenzo has already started working on these issues.
Furthermore, the singer posted on social media how far he has reached with UPRS and how far he is willing to go on behalf of fellow musicians.
“I’m thrilled to share that we had a fruitful meeting with the Uganda Performing Rights Society (UPRS) to address crucial issues related to royalties for our fellow artists. Together, we’re committed to:
1️⃣ Acquiring cutting-edge broadcast monitoring technology to accurately track music usage and compensate musicians fairly.
2️⃣ Establishing transparent criteria for distributing royalties, ensuring every artist receives their rightful share.
3️⃣ Collaborating to boost the collection of royalties, finding new revenue streams, and implementing efficient mechanisms,”
Eddy Kenzo also said he will not stop working tirelessly to make sure the music industry is moving forward.
“As President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), I am dedicated to nurturing our relationship with UPRS and working tirelessly for the growth of our music industry,”
