Some fellow musicians haven’t been supporting him saying his focus is government money and that’s what he has been doing. Although he has been denying involving this, he finally met President Museveni a few days ago. He said he wants the government to help the federation with copyright law issues. This is si that artists earn more from their work.
According to Eddy Kenzo, people need to know that the federation can’t be in existence without the help of the government. He also said the government is the centre of everything and people need to put politics aside and ask help where it is needed.
“There is nothing you can do without the government. I want fellow musicians to understand that meeting the President was a good cause for the industry. We are going to earn more if the copyright law is worked on,” he said.
It should be noted that another group of musicians under the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) with their president Cindy Sanyu haven’t met the president. Cindy said they also need the money that the federation is getting.
