Kenzo has always been a close associate with the ruling party and its president H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. He even stopped being friends with fellow singer and politician Bobi Wine because of their political differences.
The singer married a minister Hon Phiona Nyamutooro and fans think he can also be a minister or a member of parliament.
According to Eddy Kenzo, he is very happy with where he is at the moment and what he is doing. Being a president of musicians and a presidential advisor is enough for him to do what he is supposed to do for his people.
The singer also said that being a member of parliament doesn’t guarantee anyone that they will change the lives of the people they are representing.
He stated;
“I have had people tell me about contesting as a member of parliament in 2026. I don’t want to join active politics. I’m okay in the positions I have. And I personally have never thought about joining active politics and I will not be joining in 2026,”
It should be noted, however, that Kenzo dropped out of school in primary. Therefore, even if he wanted to join active politics and contest for an MP position, he wouldn’t qualify.
This is because he doesn’t possess the minimum academic requirements for one to contest for the MP position. Therefore, whoever told him that was perhaps trying to just make him feel good about himself and possibly maybe out of ignorance.
