When their parents separated, their mother moved to Canada. When she got there, she decided get into a gay relationship which is illegal in Uganda.
She even married that lady officially in a beautiful wedding ceremony. That tainted her as a bad mother here in Uganda because she had left three children behind.
However, Julie didn’t mind about people’s words. She continued to live her life not until in 2019 when she decided to bring her children over. They even joined schools there.
They hadn’t officially been recognized as Canadian citizens. As it is a very long process, it has taken them years but finally yesterday they announced that they had succeeded.
Esther and Ezekiel Mutesasira posted on their social media platforms a photo of themselves extremely happy.
They said they are officially Canadian citizens something which is a huge success because most people stay abroad but it gets harder for them to get legal status.
“Officially Canadian citizens. Thank you lord,” Esther and Ezekiel Mutesasira posted.
For their mother Julie Birungi, ever since she left Uganda and got married to a fellow woman, she has never come back.
This is because she was a born-again, married to a pastor and even a gospel musician. She is often judged by people in church for her choices.
