Esther and Ezekiel Mutesasira are unbothered by social media critics about the sexuality of their mother Julie Birungi. Julie was legally married to the father of her children pastor Mutesasira. She was also a gospel singer which she later dropped.
After some issues arose, she divorced her baby daddy and moved to Canada to start a new life. When she got there, she joined the LGBTQ community and is now married to a fellow lady known as Jean.
Since homosexuality is not legal in Uganda and in many African countries, people are not educated about it. Social Media users have been abusing Julie on social media. They say she should go to hell because of marrying a fellow woman.
Her three children, Ezekiel, Esther and their younger sister also moved to Canada to join their mother. They even secured themselves Canadian citizenship a few months ago.
Since these children have been with their mother, social media users have abused them and accused them of being homosexuals.
According to Esther and Ezekiel Mutesasira, they are all straight and they don’t have plans of joining the gays.
They said it hurts them to see people attacking their parents for no reason. However, since they are believers, they just pray to God and hope everything goes on so well.
“We have seen social media users attacking us and our parents because of the choice our mother did. We have nothing against them but as Christians we are straight that is what people should know,” Esther and Ezekiel Mutesasira said.
