Facebook To Provide Free Internet To West, East And Southern Africa

The social network giant made an announcement on Monday 5th October that its partnering with a French satellite provider Eutelsat to begin connecting free internet access in west, east and southern Africa through a satellite system known as Amos-6. Isn’t that wonderful?

Facebook and Eutelsat  have signed a multi-year agreement with Spacecom to use its AMOS-6 satellite to connect internet access in the above areas on the African continent. Zuckerberg is a man of his word, his dream of connecting the whole world with internet is soon coming to pass.

Facebook said it will create a dedicated system containing satellite gateways, capacities and terminals which will help to deliver space internet in various bigger parts of sub-saharan Africa with effect from second half of 2016.
